15 Jun 1829 - 20 Feb 1886 Born: 15 Jun 1829 Bedford, Tennessee Died: 20 Feb 1886 Glen Rose, Somervell, Texas Married Nov 14 1848 in Rutherford Tennessee Calvin Hampton Naylor was once granted 2000 acres of land on the south side of th Trinity River near Dallas shortly after he arrived ther in 1850 but circumstances caused him to become dissatisfied and he moved on to Austin Texas. Calvin Hampton and his oldest son Charles operated a wagon freighting business after the civil war hauling lumber and supplies from Jefferson to the Dallas area with teams of oxen pulling the wagons. Sometimes took a month to make 1 trip. (Like his older brother James Decatur naylor who operated a wagon freighting co in Oklahoma Indian Territory a few yrs later. Calvin moved to Midloathin Tx about 1878. A short while later to Glen Rose Tx where he died.
